The course is designed for educational leaders, including headteachers, deputy headteachers and members of school development teams. It provides an in-depth exploration of evidence-based school management, shared leadership and strategic planning tailored to the educational context.
Participants will explore innovative leadership principles, evidence-based school management and shared leadership practices. Through interactive exercises and collaboration, they will gain essential skills to drive school improvement and develop strategic plans. Topics such as shared leadership, collaborative decision-making and the PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT (PDCA) cycle will be explored to promote sustainable school development.

Highlights of the course include the principles of strategic management in education, collaborative goal setting and the practical application of school development plans using real-life case studies.

Aim

The programme aims to develop shared leadership skills, facilitate effective school improvement planning, provide hands-on experience in data-driven documentation for improvement and foster a supportive learning community.

Methodology & Assessment

The course uses three key methods to ensure effective learning and practical application for educators:
Collaborative learning: Group activities, including peer discussions and team projects, to share experiences and co-create solutions tailored to real classroom challenges.
Case-based learning: Examination of real-life educational scenarios to develop evidence-based strategies for school improvement and leadership.
Hands-on workshops: Hands-on sessions focused on creating actionable tools, such as strategic plans, teacher work plans and evaluation frameworks, that can be implemented immediately.
Assessment:
Active engagement: Contribution to group activities, discussions and practical workshops.
Applied tasks: Completion of small, focused tasks directly relevant to their professional roles.
Reflection and feedback: Individual reflection on learning outcomes and peer feedback sessions to refine practical strategies.

Day 1: Shared Leadership and Collaborative Decision-Making

  • Formation of shared leadership teams: Roles and responsibilities

Day 2: Principles of Strategic Management in Education

  • Overview of strategic management concepts and frameworks.
  • Defining cross-cutting objectives for school management activities.
  • Task prioritization and delegation within the shared leadership team.
  • Case study analysis: Applying strategic management principles to real-world scenarios.


Day 3: Planning and Analysis: Setting Goals

  • PLAN stage: Developing the school’s development plan and curriculum.
  • Internal evaluation procedures: Establishing criteria for goal achievement.
  • Practical exercise: Collaborative goal-setting activity based on national curriculum standards.

Day 4: Implementation and Monitoring: Action Plans

  • DO stage: Creating general work plans and teacher work plans.
  • Monitoring progress towards goals: Strategies for tracking performance.
  • Group simulation: Role-playing exercise to implement action plans and troubleshoot challenges.

Day 5: Evaluation and Reflection: Assessing Outcomes

  • CHECK stage: Analyzing results through internal evaluation and self-assessment.
  • Reflection on successes and areas for improvement.
  • Peer feedback session: Sharing insights and best practices from implementation efforts.

Day 6: Adaptation and Continuous Improvement

  • ACT stage: Adjusting based on evaluation findings.
  • Revising development plans and curriculum as needed.
  • Preparation of internal evaluation reports and recommendations for change.
  • Group workshop: Collaborative brainstorming session to propose municipality-level development plan revisions.

Day 7: Sharing Experiences and Certification
